Actress Kymberly Herrin, who starred in a well-known ZZ Top video, passed away at age 65.
Kymberly Herrin, who portrayed the "Dream Ghost" in the Ghostbusters film and made an appearance in the ZZ Top music video that made the group famous on MTV, passed away. She was 65.
Her relatives confirmed that Herrin passed away in Santa Barbara in October but did not give any additional information or a cause of death.
Before being chosen to appear in the 1984 music video for ZZ Top's "Legs," Herrin was a model who appeared on the covers of more than a dozen magazines, including twice for Playboy. The Texas boogie trio became regulars on the then-emerging cable channel thanks to the third instalment of an outrageous trilogy that also included "Gimme All Your Lovin'" and "Sharp Dressed Man." In the first two videos, Herrin claimed to have substituted one of three ladies who the other two "didn't like." She was the lady wearing the vivid red top in the song "Legs," which went on to become the band's biggest hit and peak at number 10 in the U.S. and other nations.

In addition, Herrin was cast in two well-known movies from 1984: Ivan Reitman's Ghostbusters, which starred Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Harold Ramis, and Sigourney Weaver, and Robert Zemeckis' Romancing the Stone, which starred Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and others. In the latter, Herrin plays a brief but memorable role as the apparition that appears above a sleeping Ackroyd's bed and appears to do more than just float.
